30 Poems, 30 Days 2020: Dream Fall (Day 4)

Suddenly falling down

Falling down somewhere

That you know from memory

But does someone care

Since no one’s there

The stairs are ice

Without a coat

The pain rushing through

Some how you’re moving through

Fast speeding down the stairs

Heading to who knows where

Then suddenly you arrive

In the hallway, but no one’s there

You’ve survived so much, yet

There are those you can’t let go

Within your mind, as you’ve changed

Maybe that’s why you turn

To see how they’re doing online

To make sure we’re all doing fine

Then you wake, it’s a nightmare

As you turn, you see it’s still there
