The moment you told me, it’s coming back to me

I was thankful that my hair was tied up

It gave me strength when your words cut

As well as the words not said

You thought you could rule my world

That I would follow you everywhere

I admit I wasn’t perfect, but I took my chances

You marked moments of history with different colors

Highlighted every emotion in every moment

You gave me drive to move forward

I won’t forgive all the time wasted

The tears you always made me cry

I remember whispers who didn’t understand

All the hugs that I could recall

Never made me believed I mattered at all

In all the fantasies that I imagined

You could never touch the high bar

You can pen any words down on post-its

I should have ID you from the start

If I went through the past, it was my type

I won’t pencil you into my schedule anymore

But I’m a distant memory to you now

If you staple everything together

I know that I count, no matter where

The dice falls through the wind
