Happy NaPoWriMo & Camp NaNoWriMo – April 2023!

NaNoWriMo.org & NaPoWriMo.net

It’s that time again! I’ll be using Camp NaNoWriMo 2023, April session for poetry. Especially since it’s also NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month) and National Poetry Month! Normally during Camp NaNoWriMo, you can do any writing project you want and it doesn’t have to be a novel, while NaNoWriMo (in November) is focused on novel writing. In the July session, I hope to use it to start a new serial novel for Kindle Vella.

So how will I use this poetry month? I’ll be using poetry prompts from NaPoWriMo.net, other prompts that I find, or what ever inspires me. This time I’m focusing on a theme. I really want to focus on mental health and how poetry can help us overcome our struggles, including generational trauma and fighting cancer. I want it to be a self-journey and exploration. While still open to any possibilities that come my way.

It’s also a good way to share my latest poems on this blog for you to read for free. If you’re interested in my past poems you can read them now in my poetry and short story collection, ‘Write From The Heart, Edit With Precise Measure’ (Volume 1) on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local indie bookstore. Eventually these new poems will go into my next volume. So you get them in advance with images. The first volume includes poems from this blog as well as poems not published previously and three short stories also not previously published. For a limited time, this first volume will be available for free as a Kindle ebook and then return to $0.99. The book is also available in paperback ($6.99) and hardcover ($12.99). https://www.amazon.com/Write-Heart-Edit-Precise-Measure-ebook/dp/B09XTMQP1S/

IMPORTANT: The best way to support poets, especially indie poets, this month is reading, commenting, and reviewing/rating their books. Any support you can provide matters.
